Consignor Agreement

By consigning items with The Caroline Lane Collective ("CLC," "we," "our," or "us"), you ("the Consignor," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms outlined below.

A. Our Consignment Process

The Caroline Lane Collective specializes in high-end, boutique, and classic children's clothing for boys and girls, primarily sizes newborn through youth 7Y.

We currently accept:

Clothing
Shoes (new or like-new condition)
Select seasonal accessories at our discretion

Once your items are accepted, CLC assumes responsibility for:

Evaluating resale value
Pricing items
Steaming and preparing garments
Stain treatment when appropriate
Professional photography
Writing detailed listings
Marketing through Facebook, Whatnot, social media, and other selling platforms
Customer communication
Packaging and shipping
Local pickup coordination

Items may be sold through multiple avenues, including but not limited to:

Live sales
Story sales
Facebook listings
Whatnot auctions
Website listings
Pop-up events
In-person shopping opportunities

CLC reserves the right to determine how and when each item is marketed.

We reserve the right to refuse any item due to:

Stains
Holes
Excessive wash wear
Pilling
Fading
Smoke odors
Pet hair
Outdated styles
Poor condition
Low resale demand
Brands outside our accepted inventory

Only clean, freshly laundered items in excellent condition should be submitted.

Shoes must be in new or like-new condition. Shoes showing significant wear, staining, scuffing, or dirt will not be accepted.

We also gladly accept many additional boutique children's brands that align with our aesthetic.

To maintain consistency and offer the highest-quality inventory, we generally do not accept:

Brands commonly sold through discount retailers (Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross, Burlington, etc.)

Exceptions may occasionally be made based on style, condition, or customer demand.

D. Pricing

Pricing is determined solely by The Caroline Lane Collective.

Each item is researched and priced according to:

Current resale market
Brand demand
Condition
Seasonality
Inventory levels

Items may be marked down over time in order to maximize the likelihood of selling.

All pricing decisions remain at the discretion of CLC.

E. Items Not Accepted

Items determined to be unsellable due to condition, brand, excessive wear, staining, damage, or lack of resale value will be donated.

Due to the volume of inventory processed, individual notifications regarding rejected items will not be provided.

Items deemed unsellable will not be returned.

F. Consignment Period

The standard consignment period is 6–12 months, depending on seasonality and demand.

Unsold items at the conclusion of the selling period may:

be donated, or
be returned upon request.

Returned inventory requires:

advance notice
pickup by the consignor
or shipping at the consignor's expense.

A $20 processing fee applies to returns of up to 20 items to cover labor, storage, and handling.

Items not claimed within 7 days of notification may be donated.

G. Commission & Payouts

The Caroline Lane Collective retains a 30% commission on all completed sales.

The remaining 70% is paid to the consignor.

Our commission covers:

Photography
Item preparation
Listing creation
Marketing
Customer service
Selling fees
Packaging supplies
Shipping materials
Payment processing
Business overhead

Sales reports are sent monthly.

Payments are typically issued within 48 hours of your monthly sales report via:

Venmo
PayPal
Other mutually agreed payment methods

H. Repairs

Minor repairs deemed worthwhile (such as replacing a button) may be completed at our discretion.

Repair costs will be deducted from the consignor's payout.

I. Early Withdrawal

If a consignor requests the return of items before the conclusion of the consignment period, a $50 early withdrawal feeplus applicable shipping costs will apply.

A minimum of 7 days' notice is required.

J. Limitation of Liability

CLC will treat all consigned items with care.

However, The Caroline Lane Collective is not liable for loss or damage resulting from:

Fire
Flood
Theft
Natural disasters
Shipping damage
Customer handling
Accidental staining
Acts beyond our reasonable control

Consigning items acknowledges acceptance of these risks.

K. Ownership

By consigning items, you certify that:

You are the legal owner of all items submitted, or
You have full authorization to sell the items on behalf of the owner.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Caroline Lane Collective from any claims regarding ownership or rights to consigned merchandise.

L. Acceptance of Agreement

By delivering, shipping, or arranging pickup of your items, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Consignor Agreement.

You further certify that all information provided is accurate and truthful.
